What is Speech Sound Production?

Speech sound production refers to the process by which sounds are formed and articulated to create speech. It involves the coordination of various anatomical structures, such as the vocal cords, tongue, lips, and palate, to produce specific sounds that make up spoken language. In speech therapy, speech sound production may involve assessment and intervention to address difficulties with articulation, phonology, or motor planning, with the goal of improving speech clarity, intelligibility, and overall communication skills.
